Peninsula Roofing & Scaffolding recognise that the health and safety of all workers, contractors and visitors is of the utmost importance and vital to the success of our business.

We aim to continuously improve health and safety in the workplace through consultation and increased health and safety awareness of management and workers. This includes not only learning from events that do occur but recording and mitigating near miss events, providing on going education and externally monitored compliance. 

Health and Safety Policy Statement

Peninsula Roofing and Scaffolding are committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. We are dedicated to continuously improving Health and Safety in the workplace through consultation and increased Health and Safety awareness, we recognise this is of the utmost importance and is vital to the success of our business. This policy is established in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) and aims to eliminate and/or minimise risks associated with our roofing and scaffolding operations.
 

Management Commitment and Responsibilities
• Complying with Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and all other legislative requirements and relevant codes of practice.
• Provide leadership and resources necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
• Develop, implement and regularly review Health and Safety policies and procedures to control hazards and risks associated with roofing and scaffolding activities.
• Provide Health and Safety training to all employees, including induction, job-specific training and refresher courses.
• Ensuring that employees understand Health and Safety management relative to their position and are trained and competent to perform their duties safely.
• Regularly monitor and assess Health and Safety performance and take corrective action when required.
• Supporting more effective employee engagement and participation around Health and Safety in the workplace by establishment of Health and Safety committee.
• Hold regular monthly Health and Safety meetings to discuss performance, review incidents and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Encourage prompt reporting of all incidents, injuries and near-misses.
• Investigate incidents to determine their causes and how we can prevent reoccurrence.
• Maintain records of all incidents and corrective actions taken.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure all employees know how to respond in an emergency.
 

Employee Commitment and Responsibilities
• Complying with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Reporting of any hazards, injuries or near misses to Management using the relevant accident and near miss forms.
 

Contractor and Visitor Responsibilities
• Comply with Peninsula Roofing and Scaffolding Health and Safety Policies whilst on site.
• Report any hazards, injuries or near misses to Peninsula Roofing and Scaffolding immediately.


This policy will be reviewed annually and following any significant incidents or changes to legislation to ensure relevance.
